Atlantia as

E-learning

Atlantia has more than 10 years experience developing both tailored and standardized e-learning courses for offshore and land-based industry and businesses. We can take care of the entire process from mapping the target group and learning goals, creating a script, producing media (sound, images, animations and video), programming and hosting and keeping the course running.

A pedagogical e-learning course should contain a high degree of interactivity where the user is engaged by solving exercises, making choices, etc. By combining media like text, images, sounds, animations and video, the user will be more likely to understand and remember the message. Repeating important parts through reflection, exercises and a final exam also contribute to making sure what we want to relate will “stick”.

E-learning

Atlantia develops e-learning courses according to recognized standards such as SCORM and AICC. This ensures our courses can be integrated with the widest possible selection of administration systems and LMSs (Learning Management System).

The most common way we develop a new e-learning course is through a tight cooperation with the company. Resources inside the company usually have the knowledge to be communicated, and often a starting point in the shape of PowerPoint presentations, photos etc. already available. The production process often elapse as illustrated below:

The common production process

An outline describing the main contents of the course, with learning goals, target group, time for each part and so on is created.

When the outline is approved, we start producing the script. The script describes in detail what is to be said, text, animations, video clips, images, exercises and so on that will be included in the course. The script has to be approved before putting the course together gets started.

After the script is approved, we start producing the elements described in the script, before putting the course together and testing it.

Finally the course is installed on the server it will be run from, and tested against the database, all links, etc. gets tested. The client will then review and approve the delivery.
